Samantha has been working in event & venue management, festival production, brand development and public relations since moving to Austin in 2010. She is a graduate of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising. She moved to Austin to explore careers in music after working at a 1,000 capacity venue as social media manager post-university.
In Texas, Samantha has worked with notable Austin festivals, live music venues and bars managing brand development, public relations and programming including The Hole in The Wall, Stay Gold, The Blackheart, Kitty Cohen's, The White Horse, Threadgill's, Ray Wylie Hubbard's Grit and Groove Fest and UTOPiAfest.
Outside of Austin, Samantha was a financial assistant for Sweetwater 420 Fest (Happy Ending Productions, Atlanta) from 2012-2017 and has worked in public relations, artist management and hospitality for Summer Camp Music Festival (Chilicothe, IL) and All Good Music Festival (Iowa).
A fervent and borderline-unhealthy obsession with all things French led her to develop strong personal and professional ties with Austin's Sister City of Angers, France. In 2015 Samantha began producing cultural export/import festivals between central France and Austin, TX, showcasing Austin artists, musicians and chefs in unconventional venues during "Austin Week" and "Awesome Week" festivals from 2015-2017. The counterpoint festival, "Angers Week" was produced in Austin from 2015-2017 and showcased French artists and creatives in central Texas. At the festivals peak exchange in 2016, Samantha coordinated the international travel, performances and lodging of 120 musicians and creatives in central France. She continues to work with French artists traveling through Austin for SXSW and is excited to develop opportunities for French artists at The House of Songs.
Samantha continues to volunteer with the Sister City cultural exchange endeavor via Austin Sister Cities International; producing their annual Passport to the World festival and Angers Days "French Market" festival. She lives in San Marcos, TX with her fiance Doug, dog Duane and cat Brisket and enjoys painting and cooking when not working with The House of Songs.
